This is our last post on this blog. We are going to live with Dad and some step-sister chickens. We hope that they will teach us how to lay eggs again and we will teach them how to be picked up and eat werms from Dad's hand. Perhaps we will start a new blog at Dad's house ... who knows?!
Goodbye for now!

How to train your chicken
Now that I have your attention, I think it's fair to say that it is, in fact, impossible to train a chicken. However, it is certainly quite fun to try, and while you might think that you have actually trained them, you haven't, and they are simply responding to the rattle of the meal worm tub. If you are still interested, read on to find out the exploits of Fried, Baked, Egg and Spoon .... and sometimes my own, with a few comments from the girls.

Spoon's comment on The Apprentice
This morning I was very noisy. I think if I was on The Apprentice this might get me into trouble because Lord Sugar would tell me to be quiet. But I always make a good point, so he might listen.
I am not sure how much I can say about today's episode because I don't know if Dad is watching. I think I will play it safe and try not to give too much away.
The candidates have been woken up at 0615. This is a lie-in as far as I am concerned. This morning I woke up at about 0530 and let Mum know. This was before her alarm went off so I don't think she was very happy about that.
They have to brand a fitness class - 'turning movement into money'. Some of them are talking about their ideas and sitting on big plastic balls just like the one Dad has. We prefer the colour of Dad's ball though. The other group have a competition going for group leader - horse rider versus boxer person (boxer person won; sorry about that spoiler, Dad). There are some interesting ideas coming out, but I am not going to say which I prefer at this stage. I can sense that there might be some sore muscles or injuries coming out of some of them though ... or perhaps arguments ... space hoppers! Cool!
Interesting result. More than that I will not say ....

Chickens on strike
I think that Fried, Egg and Spoon are in the third row of chickens ...
Not an egg in sight today. Not even a squashed one!

How to fill in an akksident form
1. Have an akksident. The kind where you could hurt yourself not the kind where you are a bit late for the toilet.
2. Pick yourself up after the akksident, brush yourself off and get back on the horse that you just fell off when it tripped up when it was cantering.
3. Do some more cantering, and finish the lesson properly.
4. Fill in your details on a form and wait for a phone call the following day to check that you are OK.
Yes, it finally happened. Mum fell off today, just as she was getting into a lovely canter. Dougal does tend to be a bit stumbly and did it quite a few times before the big one in the canter. She thought that she might have held it .... but didn't and ended up on the floor of the arena looking somewhat like a dead fly.
Still, it did mean that her new chaps and gloves were christened quite nicely ...
We think that she might have a bruise tomorrow!

We didn't know that jelly babies could play bagpipes
... but apparently they can.
Although not well enough to be put through to the next round of BGT.
Perhaps we could give it a go? We are already three different colours and we could call ourselves 'The Pipe Chickens'. We reckon that we could work out the pushing and puffing OK - they already look as though they are pretending to be chickens anyway.

There is something strange in the garden
Mum and Dad brought it back with them from being away for Christmas (yes, this weekend; yes, we know that most other people don't celebrate it then and yes, it did snow - for real).

iSpy
Mum's new toy; iPad.
We can play at that too ...

We think that Mum should get the app; it will help her understand us a bit more ...

P.S. Should that be weSpy since there is more than one of us?
Fried's comments on The Apprentice
Sorry that I am so late in writing. We did watch it on Wednesday night, and watched the Fired programme yesterday. But we have been quite eggcited about seeing Dad again, and that's why none of us have written anything on the blog. He watched with us as well, but kept falling asleep, silly Dad.
So what can I tell you about my thoughts... They kept referring to something called 'shabby chic'. I thought that this was some kind of small French hen, but couldn't see any birds anywhere. I was a bit disappointed to say the least. They also talked about 'upcycling'. Again, their use of language seems to be flawed. There were no hills, or bikes, to be seen anywhere.
I'm not surprised that the 'Leaf Crew' lost the challenge (I'm allowed to say who lost now because Dad saw the programme at the same time as us); legs falling off furniture and that awful painting seems to have sealed their fate. We could have done better with the painting, and we have trouble holding paintbrushes.

Happy Days
Another new horse! Mum's on a roll. Today she had ..
No, hang on a minute, there's something wrong here ...
That's better! She was riding Fonzie ... who is a little less scary than he looks in this picture! He did seem to wonder off into the other half of the arena a bit, but Mum sorted that out and they were cantering nicely by the end of the lesson. As usual, he enjoyed the polos that Mum has stashed in her pocket at the end of their session.

Wee lyke sossages
So while Mum was eating our eggs for breakfast we were eating the leftover sossages from her tea last night. Yum!
She wasn't so greedy that she had 12 for tea! She only cooked six and had three which meant one for each of us this morning.

Egg's comment on The Apprentice
So ... condiments. As long as they don't suggest that it goes well with chicken, I don't really mind what they do!
Of course the funniest part is always when they are making their product and have to wear those lovely hairnets ... even the boys! Nick looks particularly fetching! Perhaps we could get some of them to protect our combs in the winter? I wonder if they do them in different colours? We could get them in a nice green shade to match our house.
One red product, one yellow. More than that I cannot say for fear of giving the game away to Dad ... nor will I say which one I prefer ...

Mum has blisters
They're a bit like the ones that Dad gets after he has been playing lots of golf. She got hers from the screwdriver ... but the new bathroom cabinet is complete and hasn't fallen apart ... yet!

Why does it always rain just after you have cleaned the windows?
So yesterday I spent quite a lot of time hanging out of the windows so that I could clean the outside of them.
And today it rains.
The droplets on the window look very clean ...

The Magic Roundabout
No that's not Mum's riding style. It just seems to sum up her lesson for today. To start with, it was all change with her instructor ... AGAIN. Her last one seems to have left, although people weren't entirely sure about that. So she had Nicky, on her first day as an instructor! And then, she had another new horse - Dougal - who was pretty awesome.
Today she came home with a big smiley face which we know means that now Dougal is her favourite. She was really enjoying her cantering and also did some little jumps ... all good stuff! She is looking forward to Dad coming to see her lessons soon.
